Our fourth Snow Leopard tour of the year has been organized on 04-15th November 2024. We had three guests - Michaela and Robo from Slovakia, and Michael Thomason from the UK. We arrived in Khovd city around 8:00 am and headed to our Snow Leopard Camp after grabbing our bags. It took about one and a half hours to get to the camp where our local team welcomed us. Soon we had lunch and dressed up to our Snow Leopard Valley.

After a few minutes of scanning, our guys said there was something like a Snow Leopard. I grabbed spotting scope and it turned out to be a Snow Leopard sleeping on the flat area of the rocks. Wow! What a sighting! We have also seen a Snow Leopard on our first day during our previous tour in mid-October 2024. We went closer to the leopard, but it went into the crevice. We sat down and waited for it to come out at a safe distance. After some time, it checked on us showing only its head, and decided to walk away.

We didn't see any Snow Leopards for the next few days, but we saw fresh signs of Snow Leopards going around every day. We found the second Snow Leopard of the trip in a shallow cave a week after we arrived. We were watching this leopard hiding behind the rocks, but it knew our presence there and decided to move away. The distance of this Snow Leopard was about 90-100 meters away from us.

We have also seen Saiga Antelope, Siberian Ibex, Mongolian Gazelle, Wild Horse and Siberian Wapiti Deer during this trip. Please visit the following links to see the excellent photos of the Snow Leopards and other wildlife taken by our guest Robo Kozakovic.
